Meeting the Dreaming

50th anniversary of the appearance of Mungo Man

On 12 April 2024, Unity Earth TV did a live global broadcast from the Peninsula Hot Springs, Victoria of a cultural event woven of music and talks about the significance for the future of the 1969/74 discovery of Mungo Woman/Man when science first encountered the depths of the Dreaming.

The event focused on Mungo Woman/Man’s appearance unequivocally announcing modern humans had lived in Australia for many tens of thousands of years in relational societies that endured because people were deeply connected, not only with many others but with Country – both its material and non-material aspects – all the while guided by First Law, their holistic blueprint for living.

Their kin-centric, eco-centric, spirit-centric relational structures and systems and respect-based, collaborative, egalitarian ethos typify societies that endure without degrading the natural world and human hearts, minds and souls. Blueprints for living like those of Mungo Woman/Man offer rock-solid pathways for the personal and collective transformation of what it means to be Australian, to be human.

The most effective response to the failed referendum is not to close the shutters, it is to open them wide, expanding the opportunities for the people, whoever they may be, to experience the power of Living Country and the potency of the Dreaming.
